Some 2,100 kilograms of silver were extracted in Azerbaijan from January through June 2020, which is by 25.1 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the data from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
As for gold, gold production in Azerbaijan decreased by 0.5 percent from January through June 2020 compared to the same period of last year. In accordance with the statistics, the total volume of the extracted gold and concentrate reached 1,700 kilograms from January through June 2020.
More than one million tons of copper ore and concentrate were extracted (an increase of 30.3 percent) from January through June 2020.
As of July 1, 2020, stocks of finished products of copper ore amounted to 122.7 tons, gold ore - 259.5 kilograms, silver ore - 416.6 kilograms.
Two companies are operating in the field of production of precious metals in Azerbaijan, namely, Anglo Asian Mining and AzerGold.
