The Turkmen cotton spinning factory, located in the Kunyaurgen district of Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region, manufactured products worth more than 30 million Turkmen manat ($8.6 million) from January through October of this year, which exceeds the established plan by 5 million manat ($1.4 million) , Trend reports with reference to the “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age) electronic newspaper.
Almost half of the produced yarn, is sent to Russia, the UK, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and other countries according to the contracts.
The above-mentioned cotton spinning factory is one of the new high-tech manufacturers in the textile industry of the country.
Thus, the factory annually processes up to 6,700 tons of cotton fiber and produces 6,000 tons of yarn.
As reported, cotton is a popular raw material for the developing textile industry in Turkmenistan. Up to 70 percent of the raw materials grown in the country were processed until recently.
The textile industry of Turkmenistan is represented by a wide export range – from cotton fiber and yarn to ready-made clothing and knitwear.
