Indicators of Turkmenistan’s agro-industrial sector increased

The growth of production volumes, work and services performed in the agro-industrial sector of Turkmenistan increased by 4.2 percent from January through October of this year, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This became known during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via videoconference.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Turkmenistan has an increase in the volume of production, works and services performed in the agro-industrial sector by 4 percent, the State Water Management Committee - 5.9 percent, the Türkmen atlary State Association - 3.5 percent.

At the same time, the investment development plan into country's agro-industrial sector was exceeded by 37 percent in the reporting period.

The country has successfully completed the sowing of wheat. In particular, 690,000 hectares of land were sown with wheat.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
