Iran's customs statistics shows the export of 5.6 million tons worth more than $2.179 billion of export, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started on March 20).

A total of 839,000 tons of steel worth $ 354 million were exported in December, Iran's customs statistics announced, Trend reports citing IRNA.

A study on steel exports` statistics shows that ingots of billets and blooms with a share of 47 percent, had the largest share of exports.

The lower share of rebar exports compared the same period last year, is due to the tariffs imposed by target markets on Iran's rebar in order to support domestic production.
