The main text of the preferential trade agreement between Azerbaijan and Iran has been prepared, the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the report, the decision was made in a meeting of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), diplomats of the Iranian embassy, and relevant officials of Azerbaijan in virtual form, before the 14th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Economic Commission on the economic, trade and humanitarian cooperation.
In the meeting, both sides agreed to initial the agreement by the competent officials of the two countries.
Furthermore, the two sides also agreed to research the remaining issues, including the proposal of the Azerbaijani side, to prepare a list of products intended by both sides using the opportunities of preferential trade.
The preferential trade agreement will be implemented after it is initialed by the competent officials of the two countries, an agreement is reached on the texts of the agreement and ratified by the parliaments of the two countries.
The 14th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Economic Commission on the economic, trade, and humanitarian cooperation will be held in Tehran on January 18-19.
