Certain facilities to be launched in Iran’s mining sector

As many as 23 facilities are ready to be put into operation for the development of Iran’s mining sector, Head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Vajihollah Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to Jafari, a total of $355 million was spent on these facilities. About 3,600 people will be employed with the launch of these facilities.

Jafari added that the facilities are in the Kerman, Isfahan, East Azerbaijan and Hormozgan provinces of Iran.

“Thirteen of the facilities are owned by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, and about $13 million was spent on these facilities,” he said.

The official emphasized that in addition, $103 million has been spent on three facilities of Iran's Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.

“Furthermore, the plant owned by Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company in Kerman Province will produce 5 million tons of pellets a year and $170 million was spent on the construction of the plant,” he noted.

Jafari stressed that at the same time, a lead concentrate plant in Isfahan Province and specialized mining platforms of Parsian port in Hormozgan Province will be put into operation. About $69.5 million was spent on these facilities.
