Azerbaijan shares data on funds allocated for infrastructure development in 2020

Some 2.5 billion manat ($1.5 billion) were allocated for the construction and reconstruction of the Azerbaijani main energy, water and gas supply, transport, public, reclamation, and agricultural infrastructures in 2020, Trend reports on Feb. 11 with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance on budget execution in 2020.

According to the ministry, along with investment expenditures allocated from the state budget, through the loans attracted by the Azerbaijani government from abroad, the funds worth 798.9 million manat ($469.9 million) were allocated for the construction and reconstruction of roads, sewerage systems, water supply, agricultural and other infrastructure in Azerbaijan.

Some 5.4 million manat ($3.2 million) was allocated from the state budget in 2020 to render financial assistance to the non-governmental organizations related to the strengthening and sustainable development of civil society, solving of socially significant problems.

The revenues of the Azerbaijani consolidated budget in 2020 are estimated at 24.5 billion manat ($14.4 billion), which is 9.4 percent more than the forecast.

Budget expenditures for 2020 amounted to 29.2 billion manat ($17.2 billion), which is by 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 billion) or 10 percent more than in 2019.

Consequently, the budget deficit equaled 4.7 billion manat ($2.8 billion), which is 40.9 percent less than the projected figure.
