Most of the settlements on Azerbaijan's trade turnover were carried out through fully convertible currency (FCC) in January 2021, Trend reports on Feb. 22 referring to the report of the State Customs Committee.
In the reporting month settlements in FCC on export operations made up nearly $509 million, or 31.3 percent of all types of settlements in exports, which, in turn, is 48.5 percent less than in January last year.
Meanwhile, settlements in FCC on import operations amounted to $641 billion, or 81.4 percent of all types of payments in import relations, showing an annualized growth of 6.8 percent.
Besides, closed currency settlement operations in Azerbaijan's exports reached $1.33 million, which is 38.5 percent less than in January 2019. In imports, this figure amounted to $49.4 million, having risen by 5.2 percent over the year.
Other export transactions reached $1.11 billion, indicating an annual decline of 1.6 percent. The share of other export transactions amounted to 68.6 percent of all types of settlements. There is a 22.9 percent increase by 90.5 percent in import operations in this category. The share of such transactions in all types of import settlements is estimated at 11.5 percent.
In the structure of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for over $1.6 billion, and imports - $787.5 million.
The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 40.6 percent, nevertheless remaining positive, amounting to $836.5 million.
