Belarus may start delivering its trucks and buses, agricultural machinery, elevator equipment to Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
The discussions on the proposal were held during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission on Economic Cooperation on February 26 via videoconference.
The parties are interested in enhancing business ties and mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular, in such areas as: agro-industrial sector, mechanical engineering, textile and light industry, construction industry, transport and communication and a number of other industries.
The measures were also taken to diversify the partnership in the trade and economic sphere and to increase the volume of mutual trade turnover.
In this context, the need to take additional measures to increase export-import operations and expand the range of goods and services supplied was noted.
The parties noted the importance of further development of cooperation in the field of education, culture, health, sports and tourism.
Turkmenistan and Belarus cooperate in a number of areas. In particular, import-export operations between countries are constantly being implemented, especially within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The countries also cooperate in the transport sector. In particular, the Belavia Airlines of Belarus, which previously suspended flights to Turkmenistan due to COVID-19, said that it is ready to resume flights on the Minsk-Ashgabat-Minsk route at any time and confirmed its readiness to colleagues from Turkmenistan.
Thus, air traffic will be restored immediately after receiving permission from the aviation authorities of Turkmenistan.
