Iran to sign several contracts with five major domestic companies in manufacturing sector

A number of contracts worth $6.1 billion will be signed between the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and five major Iranian companies in the manufacturing sector, Director General of the Project Affairs Office of the ministry Alireza Hadi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

According to Hadi, these companies are the Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, Shirin Asal Food Industrial Group, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company, Sepahan Oil Company, and Arak Machine-Building Company.

The director-general added that the contracts consist of 63 projects in the area of industry and mining, food industry, mechanical engineering, and oil refining. The purpose of these projects is to create investment security and encourage enterprises to develop the economy based on local potential.

“Among the 12,000 economic enterprises with more than 10 employees in Iran, 100 major companies have been identified on various indicators, including employment, exports, and value-added. About 39 of them are operating in the area of oil refining, petrochemical, and chemistry, 21 in non-metals, 20 in the mining industry, and 20 in mechanical engineering,” he said.

Hadi noted that work is underway to encourage these companies to invest in major projects in the country.
