Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgian Mambo Frost company, which employs up to 20 people, produces 12 types of frozen fruits, including berries, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili got acquainted with the production process at the Mambo Frost Ltd, a shock-freezing fruit enterprise, created with the support of the state.

"It is important for us to develop all links in the value chain. Accordingly, the policy of the ministry is aimed at promoting primary production, as well as developing storage and processing infrastructure. Positive results are already visible in the field of fruit growing. Today, over 11,000 hectares of intensive modern orchards have been planted across the country to maximize value, be able to store raw materials without loss, replace imports and increase export potential. In this regard, the state has packages of both grant and credit resource assistance," the minister said.

'Mambo Frost' is an enterprise set up with the support of the Rural Development Agency that sells fruits on the local market and exports them to Azerbaijan.

The enterprise was founded in 2020 with the support of the Rural Development Agency. Some 4 million lari ($1.1 million) were invested in the enterprise, including a preferential agricultural loan in the amount of over 1.5 million lari ($437,787).

At the enterprise, by the method of shock freezing, 2.5 tons of fruit can be processed in 24 hours.
