The copper cathode production of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) increased by 7 percent compared to the plan and amounted to 24,600 tons in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2021), an official of the NICICO Sad Abdi said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The official stressed that the company also saw a 5 percent increase in copper concentrate production over the 1st month. So, the company planned to produce 103,000 tons of copper concentrate. However, 108,000 tons of copper concentrate were produced during the 1st month.
"The NICICO produced 26,100 tons of raw copper over the reporting month. This is 4 percent more than planned (25,100 tons)," he added.
Abdi noted that 17,700 mining materials were extracted within the month. This is an increase of 18 percent compared to the plan (15 million tons).
According to him, 4.84 million tons of sulfur stone were extracted from the mines of the NICICO in the first month. This is an increase of 2 percent compared to the plan (4.76 million tons).
The company official said that the production of molybdenum concentrate in the first month increased by 11 percent compared to the plan and amounted to 679,000 tons.
