Some 13,200 jobs were opened in Azerbaijan, including 87.6 percent in the private sector as of early April 2021, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee's report.
According to the committee, 79.9 percent of jobs were opened in Baku, 0.5 percent in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 19.6 percent in other regions of Azerbaijan (4.5 percent in Absheron, four percent in Ganja-Gazakh, and 3.3 percent - in Aran).
Besides, 2.5 percent of the opened jobs fell on Shaki-Zagatala and Guba-Khachmaz, one percent - Lankaran economic region, 0.7 percent - Mountainous Shirvan, 0.6 percent - Karabakh, and 0.5 percent - Kalbajar-Lachin economic region.
Meanwhile, 10.9 percent of jobs were opened at new enterprises and organizations, 85.5 percent - at existing enterprises and organizations, 0.4 percent - at enterprises and organizations that resumed work, and 3.2 percent - in connection with other projects.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund forecasted the unemployment rate in Azerbaijan to make up 5.8 percent in 2021 and 5.7 percent in 2022.
