Azerbaijan exported cotton worth $113.9 million from January through April 2021, which increased by more than 2 times compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
Reportedly, the share of cotton in total Azerbaijani exports increased over the year from 0.88 to 1.79 percent.
“In the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported cotton worth $1.77 million, which is less by 11.9 percent, or $239,600, as compared to the same period last year. The share of cotton in total Azerbaijani imports decreased from 0.06 to 0.05 percent over the year,” the report said.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the first 4 months of 2021 approached $9.9 billion, including exports - $6.36 billion (64.33 percent), imports - $3.53 billion (35.67 percent).
