Iran discloses details of its agricultural exports

Iran's agricultural exports amounted to 2.4 million tons worth $1.22 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Deputy Director of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehrdad Jamal Arvanaghi said, Trend reports citing the IRICA.

The deputy noted that the exports of Iran’s agricultural products decreased by 1.1 percent in terms of value, while increased by 17.3 percent in terms of volume over the 3 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“So, Iran exported about 2 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.23 billion in the same period last Iranian year, he added.

Arvanaghi stressed that the main exported products were pistachios, watermelons, tomatoes, apples, oranges, milk powder, melon and various sweets.

The deputy director said that Iran exports the most agricultural products to Iraq (worth $227 million), the UAE (worth $42.5 million), India (worth $34 million), Afghanistan (worth $29 million), Russia (worth $28 million), China (worth $27.4 million), Pakistan (worth $15.9 million) and Germany (worth $13.5 million)

“The most exported product is watermelon, which amounted to $119 million. So, $67.8 million worth of watermelon were exported to Iraq, worth $30 million to the UAE and worth $14.1 million to Russia,” he emphasized.

In addition, Iran exported $103 million worth of pistachios. So, $34 million worth of pistachios were exported to India, worth $27.4 million to China, worth $14.2 million to Iraq, worth $13.9 million to Russia and worth $13.5 million to Germany, Arvanaghi noted.
