Georgia sees decrease in Export Price Index

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2

The Export Price Index (XPI) decreased by 2.9 percent in June 2021 compared to the previous month, Trend reports via the Geostat.

There was a 2.9 percent decrease in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to June 2020 the XPI increased by 10 percent. In the mentioned period prices increased for manufactured products by 10.1 percent, also for products from water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services by 61.1 percent, while for products from mining and quarrying prices decreased by 3.2 percent.

The Import Price Index (MPI) decreased by 1.3 percent over the previous month, while compared to June 2020 the index increased by 26.4 percent.

Compared to June 2020 the prices were 26.1 percent higher for manufactured products.

For products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 19.4 percent was registered, while for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning prices increased by 173.6 percent. With regards to water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services, the prices were 16 percent higher.
