Iran and Russia's trade turnover increased by 8 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), Iran Customs Administration spokesman told Trend in an interview.
Iran's exports to Russia had a 23 percent increase in this period compared to 2019 while the country's imports from Russia had a 14 percent rise, Rohollah Latifi noted.
Iran has imported 1.2 million tons of goods valued at $638.6 million in the first half of the current Iranian year while the portion of imports from Russia in 2019 was 1.3 million valued at $596 million that eventually reached 1.9 million tons valued at $628 million in 2020.
Iran's exports to Russia in 2019 were 362.2 tons valued at $155.6 million that had increased to 473.7 tons valued at $202.2 million in the first half of the current year.
Iran's total exports in this duration had 25 percent growth to 1.5 million valued at $908.7 compared to last year. Iran and Russia's relations in this period were 2.37 million tons of goods valued at $831 million that indicating an 8 percent growth in trade ties between the two countries.
