Kazakhstan sees decrease in production of iron ores

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 47.8 million tons from January through September 2021, which is 3 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 3.05 million tons in September 2021, which is 3.8 percent less than in September 2020.

Production of copper ores increased by 15 percent during the reporting months, having amounted to 91.3 million tons (9.9 million tons in September 2021, a decrease by 25.8 percent compared to the same month in 2020).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 4.6 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 13.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 490,400 tons in September 2021, which is 13.3 percent less in September 2020.

Production of gold ores amounted to 24.3 million tons over the reporting period, which is 29.4 percent more than during the same period of 2020. The volume of gold ores produced in September 2021 was 2.9 million tons, which is 18.1 percent more than in September 2020.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 6.4 million tons, which is 48.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (696,100 tons in September 2021, up by 43.2 percent compared to September 2020).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 864,800 tons, which is 55.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (98,800 tons in September 2021, an increase of 16 percent compared to September 2020).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 4.3 million tons, which is 9.8 percent less than during the same period of 2020 (675,000 tons in September 2021, an increase of 25.5 percent compared to September 2020).
