BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Iran's exports to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 12 percent in value and 3.5 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The spokesman stressed that Iran exported a total of 2.77 million tons of goods worth $1.17 billion to the EAEU member countries within the last Iranian year.

“So, Iran exported 1.14 million tons of goods to Russia worth about $584 million last Iranian year, which is an increase of 15 percent in value and 8 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year,” he added.

Latifi also said that whereas, Iran's exports to Kazakhstan for the last Iranian year amounted to 518,000 tons worth about $189 million. This is an increase of 13 percent in value and 54 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year.

According to him, Iran also exported 45,800 tons of goods worth $78.9 million to Kyrgyzstan over the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 72 percent in value and 56 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year.

The customs official noted that Iran exported 11,900 tons of goods worth $16.8 million to Belarus in the last Iranian year. The exports decreased by 20 percent in value, while increasing by 77 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.

“Meanwhile, Iran’s exports to the remaining member states of EAEU amounted to 52,700 tons worth $302 million in the last Iranian year,” he pointed out.

As for Iran’s trade turnover with EAEU member states for the reporting period, Latifi emphasized that the trade turnover amounted to 13.1 million tons worth $5.64 billion, which is an increase of 66 percent in value and 51 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year.
