TEHRAN, Iran, April 28. Iran's export to Russia has increased in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022), a member of the Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce Jalil Jalalifar told Trend.
"Following Ukraine conflict, Russian private companies and government had positive approach toward trade with Iran," he said.
He pointed out that prominent Iranian clothing brands could use the opportunity to replace European and American brands that have left the Russian market.
He went on to say that Iran traditionally imports cooking oil and wheat from Russia, although the country is banned from exporting grains there is no obstacle for Russia to export to neighbors such as Iran.
"The Russian government has notified companies that they can export essential goods to Iran based on rationing that will shortly be eliminated in next month," he noted.
According to the official, Iranian merchants can use the Tourism Bank to transfer money to Russia saying there is no problem with banking ties.
He pointed out that trade with Russia will be in the Ruble, and Iranian businessmen could easily transfer money via Mir Business Bank or other Russian banks to Dubai or use part of export revenues to import essential goods from Russia.
He suggested that the Iranian government could exempt exporters of agricultural products, construction materials, and clothes from returning export revenue to the NIMA system to increase export volume to Russia.
