BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Iran's exports to Afghanistan decreased by 37.9 percent in value and 45 percent in volume for the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022) compared to the same month last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi told Trend.

According to Latifi, Iran exported a total of 248,000 tons of goods worth $108 million to Afghanistan in the first month.

“Meanwhile, in the 1st month of last Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Iran's exports to Afghanistan amounted to 452,000 tons worth about $175 million,” the official added.

Iran's non-oil exports for the 1st month of the current Iranian year amounted to 7.32 million tons worth about $3.7 billion. This is an increase of 25 percent in value, while a decrease of 10 percent in volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
