BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. A total of 2.09 million tons of goods worth 134 trillion rials (about $3.18 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (May 21 through May 26, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 23 percent in value 3.5 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (May 14 through May 19, 2022).

So, 2.17 million tons of goods worth 174 trillion rials (about $4.14 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.81 million tons of goods worth about 73.1 trillion rials (about $1.74 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, petroleum coke, lead, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, precious metals concentrate, gold, etc.

In addition, about 259,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 58.4 trillion rials (about $1.39 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, bitumen, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, argon, etc.

Furthermore, 17,500 tons of various products worth about 2.1 trillion rials (about $50.2 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
