BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. A total of 203,000 tons of goods worth over $165 million were exported from Iran’s Markazi Province, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Esmaeil Hosseini said, Trend reports citing IRIB.
The director general said that the goods were exported to 59 countries, including Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the UAE through province’s customs.
Hosseini added that the main exported goods were various hydrocarbon products, light and heavy polyethylene, aluminum ingots, foodstuffs, rubber products, ceramics, etc.
“At the same time, 20,000 tons of goods worth $68 million were imported through the province's customs within the mentioned period,” he noted.
According to Hosseini, raw materials and equipment were the main imported goods via the province’s customs. These goods were imported from 31 countries, including the UAE, Turkey, Qatar, China, and India.
The director general stressed that the province's customs revenues for the first month amounted to over 256 billion rials (about $6.1 million), which is a decrease of 32 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
