TEHRAN, Iran, June 13. Iran is likely to suspend steel production for one and a half months due to a possible power outage in summer, said a board member of Iran Steel Association Reza Shahrestani, Trend reports citing ILNA.
He pointed out that power outages during summer would stop the steel production, which in turn would affect the housing construction for low-income families as part of the National Housing Movement.
Shahrestani said that the power cuts would reduce the steel production by 3.4 million tons, leading to a decline in export.
