Kazakhstan increases revenues from cargo transport by road

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 169.3 billion tenge ($355.8 million) from January through July 2022, which is 47.2 percent more than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in July 2022 amounted to 32.03 billion tenge ($67.2 million), which is 62 percent more than during the same period of 2021.

The volume of cargo, luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.6 billion tons, which is 2.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year (252.3 million tons in July 2022, down by 12.8 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 75.8 billion ton-kilometers which is 4.6 percent less than during the same period of last year (11.6 billion in July 2022, a decrease of 14.5 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 65.7 billion tenge ($138.07 million) over the reporting period of 2022, which is 23.7 percent more than during the same period of last year. July revenue from passenger transportation was 10.6 billion tenge ($22.2 million), which is 37.2 percent more compared to July 2021.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 3.8 billion people, which is 11.2 percent more than during the same period of last year (571.9 million passengers in July 2022, up by 2.6 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 41.9 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 12 percent.

The passenger turnover in July was 6.1 billion (3.5 percent more year-on-year).
