BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. Subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas National Company (KMG) - Ak Su KMG LLP – has announced an international tender to select a EPC Contractor for desalination plant construction, Trend reports citing the KMG.
The pre-qualificationwas announced on the project for construction of a Seawater Desalination Plant with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day. The project is to be implemented in Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region, in the Area of Tokymak, the Kenderlirecreation area.
The project implementation will allow to solve the water problem for the population and enterprises of Zhanaozen; reduce the financial and technical burden on the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak main water supply system; reduce existing water shortages; and reduce the burden on the social security sector in Mangystau region, improving the quality and standard of living of the population in Zhanaozen and in the surrounding areas.
It is planned that the construction will start in 2Q2023 and will end as of December 2024.
The pre-qualification start date August 25, 2022 and the closing date for applications for prequalification is October 10, 2022 (17:00 Nur-Sultan time)

The project is being implemented within the framework of timely execution of the instructions of the Head of State, as well as the implementation of Comprehensive plans for the socio-economic development of Atyrau and Mangystau regions in order to meet the existing demand and ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water to consumers in Zhanaozen.
