BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. Iran’s non-oil exports through the customs of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), increased by 24 percent in value and 12 percent in volume, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

In total, 8.78 million tons of goods worth $3.9 billion were exported through the province's customs in 6 months, Gharabeigi said.

“The main exported goods were agricultural and food products, vegetables, fish, various technical means and petrochemical products, and these goods were mainly exported to China, Iraq, Germany, the UAE, India, and Türkiye,” he noted.

The customs official also added that 8.82 million tons of goods worth $5.25 billion were imported through the province's customs within 6 months, which is an increase of 4 percent in value, while a decrease of 12 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to Gharabeigi, wheat, rice, sugar, cooking oil, compressed soybeans, electronics and raw materials were the main imported goods through the customs of Khuzestan Province.
