BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Overall,140,000 tons of goods worth $418 million were imported through the customs of the Kaveh Special Economic Zone in the Markazi Province (central Iran), during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Director General of Kaveh Special Economic Zone Customs Office Faramarz Omidi told ISNA, Trend reports.
The director general noted that various raw materials, equipment and spare parts were the main imported goods during the reporting period.
Omidi added that the mentioned products were imported from 45 countries, including the UAE, Türkiye, India, China, Qatar, South Korea, Iraq, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Czech Republic and other countries.
He also said that the products were imported via by 124 Iranian businessmen.
In total, Iran imported 31 million tons of goods worth $48.5 billion within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023). This is an increase of 16.8 percent in value, while a decrease of 6 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
