BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Overall, 10.4 million tons of goods and 10,730 passenger cars worth 1.05 quadrillion rials (about $25 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) for the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

This is an increase of 13.5 percent in value and 18.5 percent in volume compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2022, through January 20, 2023).

According to the statistics, 1.75 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth approximately 315 trillion rials (about $7.5 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 11th month.

These products were mainly various petrochemical products, including bitumen, polymers, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, etc.

Moreover, 8.6 million tons of products and various passenger cars worth about 725 trillion rials (about $17.2 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the eleventh month.

Various industrial and mining products, including cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, aluminum, zinc, copper, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate, gold bars, and so on were sold in this section.

At the same time, 57,100 tons of various products worth 11 trillion rials (about $264 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange for the 11th month, the statistics said.
