BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Iran's imports from member states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), increased by 33.4 percent in value and 7.7 percent in volume, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.

According to Latifi, Iran imported 8.9 million tons of goods worth $19.2 billion from the SCO member countries in 11 months.

He also added that Iran imported goods worth $14.2 billion from China, worth $2.6 billion from India, worth $1.3 billion from Russia, worth $775 million from Pakistan, and worth $119 million from Kazakhstan during the reporting period.

“Iran also imported goods worth $71 million from Tajikistan, worth $66 million from Uzbekistan, worth $38.6 million from Belarus, worth $26 million from Afghanistan, worth $8.3 million from Mongolia and worth $3 million from Kyrgyzstan for eleven months,” the official said.

The overall non-oil trade turnover between Iran and the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization amounted to 50.6 million tons worth more than $38.8 billion. This is an increase of 18 percent in value and 3 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, Iran imported a total of 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023). This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
