BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. Auto manufacturing of Iran's Saipa Group increased by 75.1 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last Iranian year, CEO of the group Mohammad Ali Teymouri, Trend reports.
According to Teymouri, the Saipa produced a total of 86,618 cars within the mentioned period, while in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 49,455 units.
“So, the company produced 38,704 units of ‘Quick’ model cars since the beginning of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 67.4 percent compared to 23,120 units in the same period in the last Iranian year,” he added.
The CEO noted that the Saipa also manufactured 20,630 ‘Saina’ cars for the reporting period. This is an increase of 127 percent compared to 9,089 units in the same period last Iranian year.
As for ‘Shahin’ model production of the company during the mentioned period, the official pointed out that the production amounted to 9,180 cars, which is an increase of 128 percent compared to 4,024 cars in the same period last Iranian year.
“At the same time, 8,961 ‘Saipa 151’ cars were produced in the company over the reporting period. The production increased by 46.4 percent compared to 6,117 cars in the same period last year,” he said.
Teymouri also pointed out that along with all these, the Saipa Company manufactured 8,726 ‘Zamyad’ pick-ups since the beginning of the current Iranian year to date. This is 27.6 percent more compared to 6,837 cars in the same period last Iranian year.
The CEO said that 417 diesel-run ‘Saipa’ cars were produced by the company for the reporting period, which is an increase of 55.6 percent compared to 268 cars in the same period last year.
In general, there are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
