BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Iran’s minibus production increased by 35 percent during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, a total of 199 minibuses were manufactured in Iran within 2 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 147.
Alone in the second month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran produced 137 minibuses. This is an increase of 47 percent compared to 93 units in the same month in the last Iranian year.
Overall, 1,118 minibuses were produced in the country for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 10.8 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
In total, 193,437 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers and etc.) were produced in Iran within 2 months.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
