BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Local bus manufacturing in Iran increased by 65 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
In 2 months, 182 local buses were produced in Iran, while in the same period in the last Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), Iran’s local bus production stood at 110 units.
Alone in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran manufactured 119 buses domestically. This is 78 percent more than the same month last Iranian year.
So, 67 buses were produced in the country in the 2nd month of the last Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022).
Overall, 1,391 local buses were produced in Iran within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 88 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
In total, 193,437 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers and etc.) were produced in Iran within 2 months.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
