BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Iran’s export of non-oil products through the customs of East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran), increased by 3 percent in value and 22 percent in volume, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Customs Inspector of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province Leili Orangi said, Trend reports.
“Within 2 months, about 416,000 tons of non-oil products worth $208 million were exported through the province’s customs,” she said.
Orangi added that the main exported goods were iron, steel, rubber materials, fruit, copper, mechanical tools, glass, grain, etc.
The customs official noted that the mentioned goods were exported to various countries, mainly Türkiye, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia and others.
Meanwhile, in total, about 2.93 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.57 billion were exported through the customs of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province in the north-west of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
This is a decrease of 5 percent in value while an increase of 4 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, Iran exported 21 million tons of non-oil products worth $7.51 billion within the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), which is an increase of 12.3 percent in value, while a decrease of 13.7 percent in volume compared to the same period of the Iranian year.
