BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. Domestic van production in Iran increased by 60 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, overall, 989 vans were produced within the country for 4 months, while in the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s manufacturing amounted to 618 vans.
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran produced 191 vans domestically. This is a decrease of 24 percent compared to 250 vans in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, Iran manufactured a total of 3,164 vans domestically, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 267 percent compared to 862 vans in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 442,686 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first 4 months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period in the last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
