BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Iran’s export of non-oil products through the western ports of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 28 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports.

Salari added that a total of 1.12 million tons of non-oil products were exported through the western ports of the province for the reporting period.

"In addition, 993,000 tons of oil products were exported via the province’s western port in the same period," he said.

According to him, in total, 2.1 million tons of various products (including both oil and non-oil products) were exported through the western ports of Hormozgan Province from March 21 to August 5, 2023.

The director also pointed out that approximately 3.99 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the western ports of the province within the mentioned period. Of that, about 1.74 million tons were oil products, and 2.25 million tons were non-oil products.

"Moreover, 49,378 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at the mentioned ports from March 21 to August 5, 2023. This is 22 percent more than in the same period of the last Iranian year," Salari noted.

In general, there are 10 ports operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Bandar Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan are more active.
