BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. About 257,000 tons of non-oil products worth $121 million were exported from Iran’s Kaveh Special Economic Zone in the Markazi Province during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), said Hamidreza Mohammadi, the head of the customs office in Iran's Kaveh Special Economic Zone, Trend reports.

According to him, the exported non-oil products included light hydrocarbons, petroleum products, aluminum cans, fruit juice, various glass materials, water heaters, copper wire, etc.

Mohammadi added that the mentioned goods were exported to 59 countries, mainly Afghanistan, Iraq, Türkiye, Pakistan, India, Azerbaijan and others.

“In addition, 103,000 tons of goods worth $335 million were imported to the country through Kaveh Special Economic Zone within 6 months,” the official said.

The official also noted that the goods were imported from 41 countries, including the UAE, Türkiye, Qatar, India, China, Turkmenistan, Spain and others.

Mohammadi said that the main imported products were raw materials, fruit juice packages, equipment and spare parts, etc.

Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 26.5 percent in value and a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within five months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
