BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. More than 15 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $5.68 billion from Iran’s Bushehr Province (southern Iran) for the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Customs Inspector of Bushehr Province Customs Office Ali Soleimani said, Trend reports.
According to Soleimani, the main exported goods consist of petrochemical products, various industrial products, foodstuffs and agricultural products.
“So, around 14.2 million tons of petrochemical products worth $5.56 billion were exported from the province in 6 months. Methanol, ammonia, liquefied gas, urea, polyethylene, polystyrene were the main exported petrochemical products,” he added.
The customs official also said that petrochemical products were exported to 45 countries, mainly China, the UAE, Türkiye, India, Sri Lanka.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil. Due to imposed sanctions, Iran cannot freely export the mentioned products. That’s why it attaches importance to the export of non-oil products.
