Iran unveils details of non-oil export/import via Yazd Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. Iran’s Yazd Province, located in the center of the country, has increased its non-oil exports by 8 percent in value in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Yazd Province Mohammad Kazem Sadeghian said, Trend reports.

The chairman noted that the province exported 1.87 million tons of non-oil products worth $300 million during this period, despite a 3-percent decrease in volume compared to the same period last year.

Sadeghian added that the main products exported from Yazd Province were ceramics, mining products, rubber products, steel ingots, chemical products, and others.

He also stated that the main destinations for these products were Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tükiye, Azerbaijan and other countries.

“In addition, the province imported 70,000 tons of goods worth $150 million in the same period, mainly consisting of various types of equipment, chemicals and so on,” he said.

Overall, Iran’s overall non-oil exports reached $28.3 billion in value and 79.5 million tons in volume in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023). Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1 percent, while the volume increased by 29.3 percent.

At the same time, the country imported 20.9 million tons of goods worth $36 billion during seven months. This is an increase of 12.6 percent in value and 6.21 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
