BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4. Iran exported approximately 67.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $23.8 billion to five countries, during the first 8 months of the current year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.
According to the latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), China, Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye and India were the main destinations for Iran’s non-oil exports, which amounted to $9.16 billion, $6.02 billion, $4.16 billion, $3.03 billion and $1.47 billion respectively.
The most exported non-oil products from Iran were liquefied natural gas ($2.39 billion), liquefied propane ($2.09 billion), methanol ($1.5 billion), bitumen ($1.47 billion) and liquefied butane ($1.42 billion).
The total value of Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32 billion and the total volume reached 90 million tons in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).
The IRICA said that the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent compared to the same period last year.
However, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran reported on November 25 that the value of non-oil exports increased by 1.6 percent (while noting the same 27-percent increase in volume), compared to the previous period.
Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
