BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Iran exported about 508,000 tons of non-oil products worth around $367 million to Azerbaijan, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.
Data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran’s non-oil exports to Azerbaijan for the reporting period fell by 20.4 percent in value and rose by 0.87 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
In the same period of the previous Iranian year, the exports were 503,000 tons worth approximately $461 million.
Within 8 months, Iran mainly exported agricultural and food products, industrial products, petrochemicals, and chemical products to Azerbaijan.
Over the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 22, 2023), Iran exported about 60,400 tons of goods worth $63.5 million to Azerbaijan.
In total, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.
Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
