BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Iran's imports from Russia increased by 12 percent in value and 30.9 percent in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported 2.25 million tons of goods from Russia worth around $1.14 billion within 8 months.
However, the country's import from Russia stood at 1.72 million tons worth approximately $1.02 million in the same period previous Iranian year.
The main imported goods were wood and wood materials, agricultural products, various types of equipment, etc.
In the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran’s import from Russia was about 169,000 tons worth $92.2 million.
Overall, Iran imported 24.7 million tons of goods worth $42.2 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value and 4.32 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
