Iran discloses amount of goods imported from Tajikistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The import of products from Tajikistan to Iran during the 11th month of the current Iranian year (from January 21 through February 19, 2024) amounted to 26,200 tons worth $67.7 million, the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, for 11 months, imports of products from Tajikistan to Iran decreased in value terms by 4.1 percent compared to the same period last year and increased in weight by 5.2 percent.

In the same period last year, imports of products from Tajikistan to Iran amounted to about 70,600 tons worth $24.9 million.

The statistics add that during the past 11 months, Iran imported from Tajikistan mainly cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, and so on.

The information says that during the 11th month of the current year (from January 21 through February 19, 2024), Iran imported from Tajikistan 2,460 tons of products valued at $7.07 million.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran imported about 35.8 million tons of products worth about $59.9 billion during the past 11 months. Imports to Iran increased by 11.1 percent in value terms and by 6.4 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing essentials needed by the country when importing products and imposes certain restrictions on importing domestically produced goods into the country.
