Visit of German Economy Mission started in Baku

A visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy commenced in Baku, the German Embassy to Azerbaijan told Trend.

The program of the visit includes meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev and other government officials of Azerbaijan.

The Eastern Committee is a unification of all German enterprises backing economic relations with the East European and CIS countries. The delegation is headed by the chairman of the Eastern Committee and the former member of the Board of DaimlerChrysler РђG and others. Managers of leading German companies comprise also the delegation.

Germany is one of the most important trade partners of Azerbaijan, the Embassy’s report says. Solely in the first half of 2005 Germany delivered goods in the amount of 145,9 million euro to Azerbaijan and imported from Azerbaijan in the sum of 130,5 million euro.
