AZAL state company did not plan to accept the 3rd РђH-140-100 airliner manufactured by Kharkov state aviation enterprise, Ukraine, which was planned to be delivered to Baku from 28 to 29 December, the Company told Trend.
вЂњPrior the 23 December jet crash the representatives of the plant informed us on their will to solemn ceremony in relation to arrival of the airliner in Baku. They were eager to mark the arrival of the 250th passenger and award him, but the events were cancelled in respect to the accident,вЂќ AZAL said.
AZAL noted that they would consider the issue and make appropriate decision after the determination of the reason for the accident. вЂњUse of the 2nd airliner РђH-140-100 is also suspended,вЂќ AZAL stressed.
18 passengers and 5 members of crew died as a result of crash of AN-100-140 airliner on 23 December at 22.27pm [local hours]. The airliner belonging to AZAL state company, took off Heydar Aliyev international airport on 23 December at 22:19pm [local hours] to carry out Baku-Aktau flight. It costs $9.1m. РђN-140-100 airliner was purchased under a contract signed between AZAl state company and Kharkov state aviation enterprise on 8 July 2004.
