At the moment, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC) hold talks with several countries on the reduction of customs tariffs, the deputy chairman of SCC Safar Meydiyev told today, Trend reports.
According to Meydiyev, the transparency and reduction of the customs tariffs related to the imported commodities are one of the main requirements for Azerbaijans entrance to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Touching up on the changes in the customs tariffs, Mehdiyev noted that this might be realized only by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
At present, the increase of the tariffs for the import of automobiles into the country or application of barriers in relation with automobiles are not discussed, although earlier this step was considered available.
