(autoinsidernews) - Mitsubishi Motors revealed its all-new, second-generation 2007 Outlander in North America yesterday. The new Outlander is based on Mitsubishis new performance-engineered global platform that will also be the base for the next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer and Lancer Evolution models, reports Trend.
The 2007 Outlander provides the production debut for Mitsubishis new design language, which is inspired the brands performance focus. The design language features clean, sharp lines, with a diamond cut front end and boldly sculpted fender flares.
All 2007 Outlander are powered by a new 220-hp V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission featuring a segment first, available paddle shifters. The engine will also make the Outlander the first PZEV V6 SUV offered in the U.S. The Outlander is offered with either front- or all-wheel drive.
The 2007 Outlander will be offered with five- or seven-passenger seating. And will be available at dealer beginning in November.
