Two Documents Signed as Result of Azerbaijani-Italian Economic Commission Meeting

On October 20, two documents were signed as a result of the first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Italian Inter-governmental Commission for Economic Co-operation in Baku, Trend reports. The Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister, Mikail Jabbarov, stressed that the first document Memorandum of Understanding for agricultural co-operation was signed between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture and the Italian Ministry of Forest Policy.

Both parties reached an agreement to expand the co-operation in the areas of fertilization of cattle breeding, selective work, protection of plans, quarantine and veterinary, marketing, processing and the production of agricultural products with modern technology, etc. In addition, it is planned to strengthen scientific research, exchange genetic and biological materials of cattle breeding and prepare joint projects to resolve the key problems in the agrarian sector.

The second document is a protocol as a result of the first meeting of the Inter-governmental Commission. According to the Deputy Minister, the protocol covers a broad spectrum of co-operation with regard to energy, transport, health, cultural exchange, education, social issues, etc.

The main goal is to upgrade the facilities of the trade turnover. The facilities have the potential to add new spheres and products, Jabbarov emphasized.
