Ford prices all-wheel drive Fusion

(autoinsidernews) - Ford announced today that the all-wheel drive version of its popular Fusion midsize sedan will have a starting base price of $23,430. The Fusion all-wheel drive (AWD) models arrive at dealers this week, and the $23,430 gets buyers a Fusion SE AWD. The Fusion SEL AWD will have a starting base price of $24,525. Both prices include destination and delivery charges, reports Trend.

Ford has aggressively priced the new AWD Fusions against the front-wheel drive Accord and Camry, the Camry LE V-6 starts at $23,960, and the Honda Accord SE V-6 starts at $23,945. For the same money as an Accord or Camry, we're offering a Fusion with all-wheel-drive for free, said Al Giombetti, President, Ford and Lincoln Mercury Marketing and Sales. The addition of all-wheel drive will be a huge advantage for Fusion, and shows that Ford is intent on leading not following this segment.

Ford also has added up to $1,000 worth of additional standard equipment on the 2007 Fusion, including standard side airbags, side curtain air bags and perimeter alarm.
