Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynli / Tagi Ahmadov, the head of the Baku Metro, said in talks with journalists on 13 June, that negotiations regarding the rehabilitation of the fire security system of the Baku Metro are currently being carried out with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Huge capital is required to re-establish a fire security system at all subway stations.
"At present specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are calculating the necessary sum of funds and an appropriate offer will be made to the Government to enable them to allocate the necessary funds from the public budget next year," he added.
Ahmadov noted that despite financial difficulties, the relevant work in this direction is underway. There are sixteen subways stations in Baku.
